I WON! I WON! I WON!!!!

No not the Powerball Lottery. But almost as good! Well, and actually...I just came the closest to the correct answer. But hey! A win’s a win!! I’ll take what I can get.
wink Oh! It was a Mystery story that is written in parts, giving us clues to figure out “Who dun it!” DB at Corporate Crap and other Dubious Wisdom started writing fantastic Murder Mysteries a few months back; I think this is his third one. (Maybe 4? My memory isn’t always the best) And I have read and re-read and made my family read and re-read every post with clues, in hopes of one day figuring out the “who dunit!” And finally I did it!

I know DB has plans for more Murder Mysteries in the near future. If you haven’t been over there, go check him out! The Mysteries are fun and they make you LOOK for those clues! And now, he has awarded me with this really cool button, that says I won! So as soon as I am able to sweet talk Rachel into putting it up for me, (Yes, I can decipher murder mysteries, but don’t have a clue about my template or sidebar) I will display it proudly!

Thanks DB for providing a fun and thought provoking Murder Mystery. I can’t wait for the next!

Hope everyone has a great week-end! If you’re out partying it up for Halloween, make sure to assign a designated driver for getting home! (Preferably someone who hasn’t been drinking) wink Mwah!

Guest Post

On Tuesday my husband asked me if he could “guest post” on my blog, and I agreed. Knowing he knew the subject matter mainly revolves around the fact that this is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Over the last couple of months he hasn’t been able to comment on posts from his computer at work, and has felt frustrated not being able to add something. (And I missed his comments as well) I’m sure it has to do with firewalls or something equally as technical that I don’t understand.

So I have agreed, that whenever he feels the spirit, he can guest post here at Stumbling/Grace. (I’m thinking this might be a baby step towards getting his OWN blog??? He says, “no, it’s not.") I don’t know, we’ll see… wink

Because I no longer can post comments on my wife’s blog, I suggested to my
bride that I make a guest post. In recent weeks she has offered so many
wonderful observations and insights into our life together as well as her
past that I bang my fists on the Internet door in frustration over the fact
I can’t get in and offer my own take on the woman God gave me so late in
life.
If you are reading this, and have been reading 3T’s blog regularly, I hope
you know of what I speak. I appreciate all of you who visit her regularly,
and your many comments of support, joy and—at times—sympathy.
Yes, my own foibles at times become grist for her mill, but 3T has a knack
for making light of my shortcomings as a handyman. But I will take those
gentle jabs of hers any day to the strident criticism I know some bloggers
give vent to about their spouses.
Her efforts the past few weeks to focus part of her blog on domestic
violence, including both her personal history and that of others as well as
the issue itself, may seem at times too dark both for her site and for what
you might seek in any blog. But she and I have talked many times about the
scourge of domestic violence both as a worldwide horror and a lasting mark
on her that I wasn’t surprised when she chose to mark Domestic Violence
Awareness Month with so many posts.
What you all must realize is that the horror she endured in her first
marriage would have broken many other women. That she found an escape and
now thrives is a testament to her will, God’s grace and her father’s love.
But lest you think I am getting overly sentimental, let me tell you this:
Her example also should be viewed as hope for those of you who are
experiencing the same horror in your life, or know someone who is. To those
people, I just want to say this:
3T is a wise woman. Heed her words, seek out her counsel via email, because
hope is not dead for you.
Don’t worry: I’ve counseled my wife that she needs to continue salting
these messages on domestic violence with some of her more familiar
commentaries on our life, interesting blogs and other things that come to
her mind. She didn’t need that counsel because she’s well aware that she
runs the risks of running off her regular readers if she returns to domestic violence
for her subject material too often.
But you also must know that when she feels passionate about something, as
she does about this subject, she’s a tiger who won’t be deterred from
speaking about what’s on her mind.
That tenacity is one of many things I love about her, and those things
taken together make me so grateful to God for leading her into my life.

I’m Not Sleeping

We watched quite a bit of news tonight. The pictures of New Orleans are horrifying! I feel so bad for all those thousands of survivors, that are homeless without food or safe water. Not too mention those who did not survive this tragedy. I lift up a prayer for all of them, and it brings me to tears. I cannot for the life of me imagine going thru something this tragic.

I have been reading The Shattered Prayer weblog off and on for many months. Che was evacuated a few days ago, before the hurricane/storm whatever you want to call this monstrosity hit. She had very little time to throw a few of her belongings together and leave her house behind. I realize watching the news, that in one sense she is one of the lucky ones, having got out before it became the wreck that it is.

But now she, with a few of her neighbors sit in a hotel room, watching their community, staring and hoping for a glimpse of their neighborhood, with no idea what, if anything they will come home to. And it makes me feel helpless. Pray for Che and her neighbors, as they wait out this disaster, not knowing what is left. If you would like to leave her well wishes and good thoughts, click on her link, either on my sidebar or in this post. She has made a few posts, since evacuating, and for that I am grateful. To know that she is physically OK and safe. She has a tip jar, if you would like to help her, I know it would be gratefully received at this traumatic time.

God be with all the families on the Gulf Coast.

Blogging News & Views with Stumbling Grace

At the top of today’s News about bloggers we have a Birthday out there! Yes I’m talking about the extremely handsome and intelligent DB from Corporate Crap & other Dubious Wisdom! Today is DB’s Birthday and his beautiful woman B’tude has to work a good deal of it, so lets help keep him company, and head over to DB’s place and wish him a Happy Birthday! Becky from April Fool will be making DB and his gorgeous SO Bitchatude a home cooked Birthday dinner Friday, to help celebrate his Birthday WEEK. (Week DB, start shootin for a full Birthday WEEK) wink

I’m a little late on the uptake, but we have a new Jr. Blogger on the scene. She is hip! She is cool! She is the one and only BT Princess! BTP is 12 years old and started Junior High a couple of days ago. A dedicated blogger, BTP has plenty to say on life at school and at home! BTP is sporting a couple of new template looks created by the talented Jade of Jaded Sunburns, who has the honor of being BT Princesses mom! Be sure to go check out her SWEET new designs, and welcome her to Blogworld, if you haven’t done so already. To the Jr. Blogger moms who haven’t run across BT Princesses site yet, be sure to blogroll her on your Jr. Bloggers list! Welcome to BT Princess! grin

And on Check this out!  my pick of the day read, is Jay at Kill the Goat. This particular post titled “Growing up is hard to do” is an extremely insightful post, detailing the complicated intricacies that make up family life, growing up and the ever changing dynamics of the Mother/Daughter relationship. This post is part of a series called Ask Jamie Anything. She lists the “how to” in her comments section, if you would like to ask her your own question. This question was presented to her by none other then ME. wink So of course this one stood out for me, and I was excited to see she picked my question.  Besides that point, let me just say that Jay has a wisdom that goes far above her age. She is a remarkable young woman, and I know that all who read this, will be touched by her honest insight and wisdom. I cannot possibly do it justice here, I recommend reading it for yourselves. grin
