That sounds like the perfect way to go into a relationship, and I think it’s great you two both take the time out for an “us” getaway. You’re absolutely right in that you can’t let the day-to-day crap bring you down, and that sometimes the simple things (like a breakfast) is what really matters. I take it that your birthday is coming up, then, so Happy Birthday!
Years one and two were the worst for us (just ask my mom, she’ll tell you). Years three and four were slightly better, but we still had some low points.
Now that we’re coming up on year six, things are finally starting to settle down.
It just takes time...and lots and LOTS of patience.
Looking back at the difficult years makes the present stronger because you know you survived it. But don’t dwell on it. Live the moment. I hope you have a fantastic Birthday, 3T!

I agree wholeheartedly. One of the things that is great about SG is that we travel well together, I love that. And that he gets me to travel at all - I always come up with excuses not to go when left to my own devices. We just spent a wonderful three days in Laughlin with the SG spawn (2 teen boys) and he and I are going back alone at the end of the month.

and, candy corns are awesome, especially in october. it’s the month they’re meant to be eaten in. otherwise i think they’re just stale remnants from octobers past. love your comments.

It’s been far too long since we’ve been able to get away due to circs beyond our control, but we’ve had fun planning on how to use free mileage. A VERY happy belated birthday to a fellow Sept. gal! Mine was during the first wk of Sept plus you share the BD of my daughter if I decoded your post correctly. We’re celebrating mine hopefully in Oct. Have another terrific charmed get-away w/ Kevin!
