I don’t think I have a curse but I just hate February in general. It is always the coldest frikken month here. Give me snow instead of the -40° wind chills. And appliances must have some code of misconduct ... my washing machine and vacuum cleaner died this week. (I am now in mourning for my granite counter tops that I wanted to put a down payment for order this month.)

Um ok.. first off you need to contact Flickr and find out what’s going on (oh and change your passwords).  That part alone upsets me and I swear to God it wasn’t me. I also don’t think that your stalker-lah-fucktard is smart enough to pull that off. I also don’t think that there is a person in this world that hates you enough to do any of this shit (and if they do then it’s because they are fucking idiots) because you are the kindest person I know so if and when I find out who this was I’m going to rip them a new asshole - because my February always sucks too and on that note I’m coming to visit this week.
Fuck the world.

3T - re: Trojan Horse.  It sounds like you don’t have a strong anti-virus program on your machine If that is true, I suggest Symantec but any good one should work, as long as your subscription stays current and you get the updates.  If you don’t have one, you should also get a firewall.  Symantec also peddle a good one. Zone Alarm is also a good choice for both.  Something else to consider is Ad-Aware Pro. That deals with malware, adware, etc.  The Ad-Aware tool is really worthwhile.

I also wanted to point out that there are free on-line help services with volunteer technicians that will help you when you’re hit with a virus.  They do this on a volunteer basis.  I was hit hard by some malware about 2 years ago and got help through one of these sites.  I can’t say enough good about the help I got.  If it happens again, just google up “help” and you can find them.

Teri, I’ll set up AVG for you when I come over. It’s FREE and in all tests beats out Symantic and Norton and does not take over your computer. Norton and Symantic are worse than AOL. I will also bring over Spysweeper. It’s updated about 10 times more often than AD-Aware is.  I gotcha chick. smile

And I love you Chicka! I know this post is one big whine, but it’s nothing compared to the pity party I sponsored, by crying in bed for an hour this morning.

It really feels like you’re invaded when your system is compromised and your personal family photos are dicked with.

I’d love for you to come over, though. And I know neither you, Jade or Danalyn would do something like this.(I’m having a hard time understanding why ANYONE would take the time out of their lives to pull these stunts) I just went ahead and changed the password on my flickr account. We’ll see if this helps. It was the weirdest thing. If you looked at the page, the offending photos were there in place of mine. But if you clicked on it, to make it bigger, my original photo was the one that showed up. It was like someone pasted the strange photos on top of mine, but when you hit it to make it bigger, my uploaded photo was the one to show up. There was no way to rid the pages of these strange photos, besides hitting the delete button; which deleted the offending photo right along with mine.

Whatever you feel will work best Rachel, just let me know the cost, and I’ll pay for the software. (I’m in no hurry to relive last night’s trojan problems)

You pick the day, and I’ll arrange the schedule to accomodate it!

Love you,

Teri

AlwaysalwaysALWAYS appliances seem to break in February. It’s one of life’s mysteries that irritate the shit out of me! My condolences on having to wait on your granite countertops.

Mike~
Thanks for the advice on antipvirus programs. It is definitely time to do something. I also, day before yesterday, had to cancel a credit card as it had been intercepted on a site I was making a purchase on. I think my online purchases are going to come to an abrupt halt. It seems the internet is just not a secure enough place to trust putting personal financial information on. Paul also said to tell you and Margie “Hello. And “we send our love.”

Rachel~
The first thing out of Paul’s mouth this morning was “Call Rachel, and see if she knows what we can do about this.” You know how much we look up to, and love you!

Yea, yea, yea, I’ve been hearing about the February curse for years now. I have important questions about this most recent post. First of all, was the woman in the photo posted in your Flickr account hot? Just how naked was she? Did you keep a copy? And if so, how do I get one?
February curse. Try being single in February. Then we’ll talk.
Hang it there kiddo, it’s the shortest month fo the year, and it’s more than half over.

comment by Gman  on  02/17  at  09:36 AM

Most people just go through the “February Blahs” but you’ve got the most serious case ever! Thank goodness it’s a short month, right? Please take care of yourself, and I’ll look forward to my happy 3T in March.

comment by Jay  on  02/17  at  02:35 PM

I too got the Flickr February curse: I got .

It seems to have cleared up now.  Flikr says it was a server error that should be fixed.

Okay, so maybe you don;t take HTML links.  Here’s the plain link:  http://www.bellybuttonwindow.com/2007/america/flickr_photo_pools_hack.html

It does seem at times that the “bumps” in the road become more like potholes instead. Keep fine tuning those driving skills and don’t let the son-of-a-bitches win!

comment by Mizmell  on  02/18  at  02:24 AM

I personally can not wait for this month to be over. I’m tired. No, I’m exhausted. Only 6 more weeks of working. Ugh.

It’s a good reminder about why I don’t work anymore.

What is up with Flickr?? I have some weird photos on my front page but when I click it’s the actual photo?? Weird.

comment by Tracy  on  02/18  at  05:32 AM

Yeah that is rather creepy when you think about it. Personal photos are just that, and messing with them is never “funny”.

But as you said, eleven days and counting. Big breath…

comment by Al  on  02/18  at  12:54 PM

I’m just really glad to see you… you’ve been missed xoxo

comment by tori  on  02/18  at  02:09 PM

What can i say but Holy Shit!  An astrologer friend of mine keeps insisting that we are in something called Mercury retrograde and that it screws p everything. I hope it’s over for you sooner than eleven days!

comment by Bud Buckley  on  02/19  at  03:34 PM

Such shit.  Sorry to hear it 3T, but as you said yourself, that stuff is all the past.  I now declare that February shall be your favorite month from here on in, by order of the Queen of Curses.  There.  That oughtta take of of that.

Hope all is well over there in the sunshine, and sorry I’ve been away so long as well.  Seems everyone plays groundhog in the winter… lol.  Stay in touch my friend.  Oh, and go give that hubby a hug and a nice pat on the behind for me, tell him it’s from some crazy bitch in Ohio who is bored, I love living vicariously through others.

Ugh. I hope this month passes quickly for you. Nobody deserves that sort of luck, least of all, you.

Take care!

comment by Amy  on  02/20  at  10:21 AM

Poor baby. Hope it gets over soon for you…

comment by sue  on  02/20  at  01:39 PM

I’m glad you posted. I hope you don’t think I was put out by you not posting, I was just worried about you. Did you know Mercury is also in Retrograde? That kinda screws things up more than normal.

I hope Feb. ends on a good note for you.

NOT.AT. ALL. Honest to goodness, this was not directed at anyone. I just build up with stress over a bunch of little crap, and it flies out in the form of a meltdown. Meltdown equaling this post. (It also saves my family from hearing about it too) This blog is probably 50% me letting off the steam, just from day-to-day life. The Flickr fiasco (or curse) was just that. I wasn’t the only one hit with it; there were a few that I know of, now. One is up in the comments above yours. This guy had the same thing happen to his account. It does send shivers down my spine, that the Trojan and the Flickr fiasco happened within 12 hours of each other. Thus re-enforcing the existence of the February Curse.
YOu m’dear, are a total sweetheart, period. And your concern for me, and in sending me the email touched me. Thank you. Love you,
3T

Sue~
8 days and counting....

Amy~
I’m sure I have my share of bad karma that allows for a certain amount of disaster for. I just wish it were spread out over the year, not all bundled together in one particular month!
wink

Rachel~
I love you! grin

Mongakim~
I will fix the typo. (As soon as a locate it) wink And I’ll most certainly give the hubby a hug and pat on the ass from you! wink OK, I’m going to look forward to a fabulous February next year, since, you, Kim, The Queen of Curses lifted have release me! wink Love Ya! And of course I’ll keep in touch. LOVED your last blog post!

Bud~
Yes, Mercury Retrograde, The Curse of February, and add a mean case of PMS, and you have a week in Hell, let alone a month!
wink One day at a time, I guess.

Tori~
Thank you! and yor comment has me missing YOU. It’s time to pay you a visit! grin

Al~
Eight days and counting… wink

Tracy~
Don’t take this the wrong way, but I was releived to hear I was not the only one with the Flickr fiasco. A glitch in a server sounds much nicer than someone is out to get me!
winkHope the time you have left working speeds by for you! xoxo

You have no idea how relieved I was to know I was not the only one hit by this. The coincidences of receiving a Trojan and the Flickr server fiasco within 12 hours had me more than a little freaked. (Admittedly it doesn’t take much to freak me) Thanks for taking the time to direct me to what happened to you on flickr. I appreciate it.

MizMell~
No son-of-a-bitch will win! wink Thanks for the exhortation, Girlfriend!

Jay~
I promise to be much happier once February is over. grin I fight a battle known as trying to keep balance in life. So it doesn’t surprise me, with my all or nothing past mentality, that since most get the blahs in Feb. I get a curse. wink Thanks for commenitning Jay!

G-man~
Yes, you’ve gotten the honor of hearing about the February curse, for over 7 years. Which means you should be all the more convinced, since you are privy to the 100’s of mishaps over those years! wink I do believe in doing away with V-Day, especially for the single people. It really is a cruel so-called Holiday. Admittedly, I do buy my kids a Valentine and box of chocolate each year. I don’t want to punish them for my problem with it. They’ll discover V-Day’s cruelness all too soon, all on their own. I’d try and set you up with one of my friends Gary, but they’re all married now. I know I’ve harped on this for more than a few years, but I think you should give the dating sites another shot. (It can’t hurt) Thanks for commenting my friend!
