I hear you on the car issue. Jason is thinking of getting a new one, and I’m thinking of dumping ours and not replacing her - we’re moving downtown where parking is next to impossible. But once you get used to a car, especially for Jason who is a driver, it’s hard to do without. I just resent the expense and the stress. They never break down at “convenient” times.
I get a lot of shit about driving a 10-year-old car that is suffering from a body disease due to road salt. Yes, I could finance a new car with “the amount of money I make”, but old faithful it gets me from PointA to PointB (i.e. work and home) faithfully and cheaply. Should it quit on me ... I will shed a brief tear and say “Girl, you served me well.” While I like shiney new stuff, I get that at work from company vehicles. I’d rather be spending my money on family gatherings or leather dog collars than a car payment. :D
Fotball. This is my cheerleader jump for this year ... GO BEARS! (Most years I’m more into it). That jump is only because I was born in the outskirts of the windy city and my mom was a huge Bears fan. [And, could you please, root that the end of quarter scores are even numbers so that I win in a football pool.]
Ohmygosh 3T, I think I remember your post last year about his football. Didn’t you say you would surf blogs or go shopping while he watched the games? You crack me up!
I hope you’ll take a pic of your new yard when you get it all taken care of. I realize I’m ignorant about this, but in Az., are most yard done with rocks on the floor? (I mean, instead of grass) rocks, gravel, you get the picture. I’m asking because from the pictures I’ve seen, it seems to be the case & would certainly be understandable.
I had to smile as I read this post. We’ll be cramming in a Home Depot visit in between games today to get a long list of items needed for our improvements over the next couple of weeks. I also agree with you about the dealer ripping you off on these “tune ups”...my dealer calls them “check ins” They don’t tell you when you buy the car that to maintain the warranty, you need to shell out 3-400 for seemingly nothing every year.
They don’t even change the oil or anything. They just check to make sure everything is still OK. THEN DON’T CHARGE ME FOR IT! Silly. My car is at the end of it’s warranty and so I don’t take it in anymore. I’m taking my chances.
That pisses me off too. My car has just 5,000 miles on it now and the car agency is relentless about reminding me to come in for a 3,000 mile checkup--to maintain the warranty. Just another way for them to line their pockets!

I have a Saturn that has served me faithfully for 6 years-- with no repairs needed!
At any rate, enjoy your football weekend. This time around, I happily married a man who has absolutely no interest in sports. It’s marvelous!

it sounds horrible to admit, but (back when I was in a relationship) I loved the kidless weekends… I hope you enjoyed it!!!
Son-of-a-blankety-blank-blank-blank!
Such a potty mouth!
