To not give a reliable diagnosis is unfathomable to me. I also agree that the best doctors are female, however sexist that may come across. I too have had male doctors that have had cranial rectosis and have need a female doctor to help them pull their head out of their rears. Sending good vibes. Cancer has invaded my life this year so I definately can commisertate with you. Hang in there!
I’ve been wondering if something was wrong, since you haven’t been posting as much, and I’m so sorry to read about this. I know that waiting to see the other specialist and not knowing the results is going to drive you crazy for the next month. My thoughts and prayers are with you that the tests come back benign. I can’t blame you for wanting to hide-out, but if you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask.
I’m sorry you’ve had tp deal with such a horror. I had a terrible experience with an uncaring, incompetent doctor (also male) after my surgery to remove fibroids off my uterus. Dealing with him, was almost as bad as the physical problems. My heart goes out to you.
WOW! I can’t even begin to sympathize with you. I won’t get a clue what going thru a mamo is about and the fact that my (female) family physician reminded me that I should get done for the first time early next year. What bothers me about her is that she said, “Your family doesn’t have a history so you shouldn’t worry.” I shouldn’t ... but I do.
When my youngest daughter went to her first “grown up” exam and gave the doctor all our family history, their reply was, “...and you aren’t dead yet?”
I can relate to having family history that for one reason or another scares the ever-lovin’ poo out of you. You have every reason to be upset and scared and frustrated with an insensitive lout. I will say, though, the woman doctor I had was waaaay worse than the man. Guess there are bad apples in every profession.
Please take care of yourself and remember we’re all here for you. I realize we’re out in cyber-land, but we’re praying and rooting for you and your family. You HAVE had more than your share. {{{hugs}}}
I can believe it all, as sad as it is. And Scary. Wow girlfriend. I know I owe you an email, but just let me tell you that I’ve been praying for you in this situation and that I love you girl!
WHOA, they don’t have to be licensed specialists? That’s not good. God, 3T, having a biopsy in itself is enough stress, without adding an inconclusive diagnosis from a dr. that doesn’t seem to really care. 6 months is a HELL of a long time!
In reality, we have to be our own advocates. It’s disturbing to know the majority of patients most likely don’t know or just don’t research a diagnosis or medicine, etc.
This may sound weird, but I’m glad this made you angry & that you are pursuing it via another opinion. We only get 1 life!
I so agree with you about female doctors.
OMG, I had no idea you were going through this. I went through hell for two weeks at the beginning of October when my doctors missread the report from my mammogram and ultrasound. I feel your pain.
I hope that everything turns out ok. You’ve been through so much. Hang in there.
Getting through such an experience is enough one to get sick. I am sorry for your having to go through this. I have experienced something similar when my father lost one of his feet. The doctor said that eventually he would die and he wouldn’t have his feet cut. Terrible decision I had to take!
