We watched quite a bit of news tonight. The pictures of New Orleans are horrifying! I feel so bad for all those thousands of survivors, that are homeless without food or safe water. Not too mention those who did not survive this tragedy. I lift up a prayer for all of them, and it brings me to tears. I cannot for the life of me imagine going thru something this tragic.
I have been reading The Shattered Prayer weblog off and on for many months. Che was evacuated a few days ago, before the hurricane/storm whatever you want to call this monstrosity hit. She had very little time to throw a few of her belongings together and leave her house behind. I realize watching the news, that in one sense she is one of the lucky ones, having got out before it became the wreck that it is.
But now she, with a few of her neighbors sit in a hotel room, watching their community, staring and hoping for a glimpse of their neighborhood, with no idea what, if anything they will come home to. And it makes me feel helpless. Pray for Che and her neighbors, as they wait out this disaster, not knowing what is left. If you would like to leave her well wishes and good thoughts, click on her link, either on my sidebar or in this post. She has made a few posts, since evacuating, and for that I am grateful. To know that she is physically OK and safe. She has a tip jar, if you would like to help her, I know it would be gratefully received at this traumatic time.
God be with all the families on the Gulf Coast.
