Ohhhhh YES! And I have the cream of the crop, sitting in my blogroll! Men have always fascinated me. At times scared me, perplexed me,intimidated me, and of course brought me great pleasure. (But that’s not the topic I’m covering, so if you want to gracefully bow out, the X is in the upper right hand corner)
This post is for all those fabulous men sitting in my sidebar. I had planned on writing a post detailing some of my latest MANblog finds, that have added something new, or interesting, intriguing, or simply entertaining to my blogroll, a few weeks back. But being the master procrastinator that I am, I just hadn’t gotten around to it. In the meantime, I have seen more gender based posts circulating thru blogland over those two weeks, that I had to laugh. Neil at Citizen of the Month, wrote about both female bloggers and male bloggers, noting their differences, and for a period of time, ignoring his female readers, in search of male “bonding” blogs. For his keen observations, check out Citizen of the Month! Neil writes a blog, I check on regularly, and if I had to choose a few words to explain why, the first would be “funny” followed closely by entertaining. Presented and written well, he is one of my new finds that I love enough to dig into his archives for some of his vintage posts.
Before I delve any deeper into the many wonderful men in my blogroll, I have to acknowledge my first. G-man at Digital Fishwrap, was my very first male blogger, and to his credit,
the very first blog I had ever read. He is also responsible for this blog being created. As a woman who most of the time feels the need to put in her two cents worth, I created Stumbling / Grace for the soul purpose of sticking my comment on his blog. I’ve known G-Man for several years now, having met him while he lived in that beautiful desert oasis known as Palm Springs, where we shared a few adventures and some laughter. A kind, honest man, with a mischievous side that always appeals to me. (And ladies, he’s single at the moment.) I never miss one of his posts, as I’m nothing if not loyal.
Brandon (a.k.a. Brando) over at One Child Left Behind: is an entertaining writer, capable of bringing his audience to hysterical laughter, or sitting at their computers weeping. This mans talent has been a daily favorite now, since the beginning, when I discovered him in G-mans blogroll. You never know what you will find in his posts, but you will never be disappointed. A true star in the blogworld, and the originator of the Blog Comment Orgy, he is worth the read, each and everytime. Always entertaining, and connecting with his readers thru commenting in his comment section. (I find his comment section almost as entertaining to read as his posts.) His one-liner comments always have me giggling.
DB from Corporate Crap and other Dubious Wisdom: DB, besides his obvious wisdom, is a gentleman who is a good person, one I would like to meet one day, and plan to, right along with his SO Chris at Bitchatude. Together they are a dynamic, charismatic caring couple, that I would invite out for a dinner and conversation.(Ok, I’m rambling off topic, sorry. HI BITCHATUDE!!)
Back to DB and Corporate Crap, he is also the creator of the Blog Murder Mysteries and, who done its. Created perfectly, but never obviously, I always enjoy trying to wrap my mind around his latest mystery. And lucked out winning one, which earned me that cool button on my sidebar. DB is also one who never fails to address each of his commenters, with graciousness, manners and sincerity.
Bud Buckley, Confessions of a Singer / Songwriter: Bud is another blogger that I consider a friend, besides being a talented musician. I started out purchasing one of his CD’s, simply because I enjoyed his music. His CD “Feel my Love,” is wonderful music, that I enjoy listening to often while blogging. Bud is a retired school teacher, with a very caring heart. His posts encompass, his life with his wonderful wife Cathy, and details about different aspects of his songwriting. He also shares new songs he is working on, and/or completed. When I was struggling with a personal issue, Bud took the time to mail out and lend me a book, that he thought would be helpful. And Bud, I am enjoying reading it, and will get that back to you soon. An exceptional human being, you can also listen to,and pick up a copy of his CD, “Feel my Love” on his blog.
Brad at Blogg’d: Brad’s biting, sarcastic humor, has also been a favorite. Brad reviews different blogs, doling out Blessings or Burns, in the form of a post and a button. On my sidebar, you will see a Burned by Blogg’d button. I requested the burn, and he didn’t disappoint. Poking fun, tongue in cheek, at many blogs floating around blogland, his brand of humor is something I enjoy on a regular basis. There’s just something about a man, not afraid of saying anything!
Timmortal at Shady Dreams: Is one of my recent finds. Tim shares openly about his life, thoughts and emotions. Capable of writing humor that has you laughing till you cry, (check out his “guys night out” posts) or have you crying for the brutal honesty of his thoughts, emotions, struggles and triumphs. Another rare read, by a very talented writer.
Kaos at Kaoticism : Is a young man who says what’s on his mind, and doesn’t pull any punches. He is what I imagine is considered “cool” among young people. His topics are varied, sometimes controversial. Like his one calling Santa, Satan. I laughed, and of course disagreed. Kaos is a devoted family man, and I completely love his mom, Tutu!
Norsegod : Another young man, and friend to Kaos, whose topics vary, and is unafraid of speaking his mind. Living in Colorado, I also keep up on the battle on the legalization of marijuana in that state thru his blog.
Dave at Blog Thunderdome: The creator of Two blogs enter, one blog leaves. This place can be downright scary! Where insults fly, and blogs are banned for a period of two months. On occasion I participate, but on the whole, I get a strange fascination watching the lynch mob mentality that can break out in the comment sections now and then.
The Village Idiot at Kicked Puppies: His light quirky humor and solid writing, has me giggling or smiling regularly. A gentleman who is gracious, with a wonderful sense of humor.
Middle-Aged Man : His observations and again, his humor have me checking in with him regularly. Although I have a teensy problem with a man in his mid thirties calling himself middle-aged. (I think that’s a personal problem on my part)
Ted at Irreverent Codex : A British gentleman, with THE sexiest of British accents, who shares tales from his personal life and workplace characters. He has a unique, subtle writing style, that engages his readers, whether an observation on errand runs for his wife, or the quirky characteristics of some of his subordinates in his office.
Andy Martello’s Tales from Andy Land: A Comedian, juggler, fire eater, plate spinner and freelance writer, with a unique fascination for penguins. His writing is funny and entertaining! He also likes naked women, martini’s and cigars. What’s not to love!
The Fabulous Vegas Brothers Blog : Performers and Comedians. Simply entertaining! I do think I have consented to becoming one of Nicky Vegas’ many EX-wives, along with many other quality women of blogs. (I was high on pain pills though, so I’m not sure if that counts)
Steve at Bent Collective : My newest and latest blog crush. (Women can be such fickle bitches)
I ran into Steve while commenting on the blog Discuss It. (A relatively new blog, that takes a look at current events and topics, allowing everyone to post an opinion.) Steve and I disagreed on the topic “Keep your Religion Out of my Pharmacy,” he then (unintentionally) insulted me, and I’ve been his loyal reader ever since!
Steve is a Nurse Practitioner, who has worked over in Africa administering medical aid to the HIV and AIDS patients there. His blog holds so much depth, relevance, and educational information regarding the plague that HIV/AIDS has become. Delivered in a very humanistic, personal and well written manner, Steve draws his readers into this battle on AIDS.
Steve is a Humanitarian and Activist, who speaks out intelligently, supporting Literacy, Women’s Rights and Gay and Lesbian Rights. On a personal note, what impresses me immensely is Steve’s ability to look beyond stereotypes and connect with people on a personal and respectful level. I cannot do this blog, or this mans life and writings justice, here in a few short paragraphs. I highly recommend reading Bent Collective. His knowledge and work will amaze and touch your heart. Steve is a testament to the caring and giving spirit, that mankind is capable of.
While I might have left out a few of my favorite MANblogs, it wasn’t intentional. The topic of quality MANblogs, while it engages me wholeheartedly, can tend to fluster me as well. So many MANblogs, so little time! Each one of these blogs offers something unique and special. Worthy of the time it takes to read them. So to anyone who would say, “there are not that many quality MANblogs out there,” I would say you haven’t been down my blogroll!
This post written with the expressed permission and Blessing from the MOST important man in my life, my husband. Who has served notice, that he intends to write a guest post on The Wonders of Women.
