Well, sort of. Someone close to me has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Because he kept up on all his preventative testing, it has been caught early and the prognosis is very good. Prostate cancer, by my understanding, is slow growing and highly treatable, if they catch it early.
If you’re a man approaching 50 or older, have your PSA levels checked annually through a blood test. And of course, make sure to get your yearly physicals, you know the ones you all hate? (Bend over, and relax.) Ladies, stay on your husbands to get their PSA level checked out ANNUALLY. I would also suggest around 50 going in and having a colonoscopy that checks for colon cancer as well.
Just as with breast cancer, colon cancer and prostate cancer have a much better prognosis when caught in the early stages.
That’s all. As it’s Monday and the rugrats’ spring break has jumped out at me, that’s all I got for today.
