I’m thankful for my husband, and his unending love and patience. I am thankful that he has the drive and motivation to go out into the Corporate workweek world, and do what at this time, I do not have the drive and motivation to do. Work hard, and long hours, to pay the mortgage, buy the food, and provide clothing and entertainment for us and the kids.
I am thankful for my kids. For thier charm, humor and intellect. I am thankful that as they run out and play, that they can run out and play. That they attend classes, and continue to learn, to equip themselves for life outside my home one day.
But I cannot help but feel, that when we are Blessed with so much, day after day, that we should continue to show our gratitude for these Blessings, by reaching out to others, and helping. That could mean a million and one different things. I do not believe that even the smallest of kindnesses go uncounted.
These are things, that on average I will take for granted more times then not.
It is on this note, that I challenge us all to reach out and make sombody elses world a better place. I know that we all become complacent at times. We feel nickel and dimed to death, by this bill or that. Unexpected expenses are forever rearing thier ugly heads. But a lot of us will not think twice about plunking down $4.00 for a Mocha Lahte, or popcorn and pop with the movie.
Giving to others, or to charities, or medical foundations, shouldn’t be a one time thing. It should be somthing we strive to do, even a tiny bit, here and there, but continually. If you feel the same way, then go to Rachel’s http://www.bitchalicious.com/blog/ at Bitchalicious and buy a raffle ticket! She is donating her time, talent and resources to give to charities, and she is doing so, on a regular basis.
Her raffle tickets are One Dollar. One little dollar. And if you pay with paypal, which she has it set up right on the post, it will take you less then 15 seconds, and besides $1 a couple of pennies, for the transaction. And you will have helped with Autism.
Each month Rachel will be giving to a different charity, and raffling off her designs to do so. This is an altruistic sacrifice on her part. She is using what God gave her, her talent, to do what she can for others. And not just once. But regularly. Monthly. I applaud her giving spirit! And I urge each of us to consider buying A raffle ticket. Her nature is honest and caring, and she is putting herself out there to help others. Those of us, not blessed with her design talent, can still help in some ways, that will make a difference and make us feel good.
I feel it is important to show our thankfulness for the many Blessings in our lives. And this is just one very easy, convenient way to show it. Thank you Rachel for reminding me of what is truly important, not just in my small world.
This months Raffle Tickets go to aid Autism. To read more go to Bitchalicious.
